The 6th Exchange Programme


Accra, 23-24 March 2026

The sixth G-NEXID Exchange Programme was a capacity-building and peer-learning event organised by the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM)). It followed five successful editions hosted by:

  • India Exim Bank in Mumbai (2016);
  • BNDES in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília (2017);
  • Indonesia Eximbank in Jakarta and Bali (2018);
  • Afreximbank in Cairo (2019); and
  • Saudi Exim Bank in Riyadh (2025).

The programme provided an opportunity for GEXIM to share its expertise and experience in developing innovative solutions to promote trade within Africa and beyond. The main areas covered included:

  • An overview of the Ghanaian economy;
  • Trade and investment opportunities in Ghana;
  • The history and rationale behind GEXIM’s establishment and its governance structure;
  • The evolution of GEXIM’s portfolio, funding structure and funding sources;
  • Highlights of the Bank’s current strategy; and
  • GEXIM’s products and initiatives.

The programme also featured presentations on pipeline projects and co-financing opportunities in Ghana. Additional presentations were delivered by:

  • Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB);
  • Development Bank Ghana (DBG);
  • Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC);
  • Ghana’s Ministry of Finance;
  • African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE);
  • West African Development Bank (BOAD); and
  • The 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.

Following the Exchange Programme, participants attended the GEXIM@10 International Conference, held in Accra on 25–26 March 2026. Under the overarching theme “A Decade of Enabling Export Trade and Industrial Transformation: Resetting GEXIM for the Next Frontier”, the Conference brought together senior policymakers and representatives of development finance institutions, export credit agencies, financial institutions and private-sector organisations from Africa and beyond.

The G-NEXID 6th Exchange Programme was a Capacity-building and Learning Event organized by the , following five successful editions hosted by;

  • Indonesia Eximbank in Jakarta and Bali (2018)
  • Afreximbank in Cairo (2019)
  • Saudi Exim Bank in Riyadh (2025)

The event offered an opportunity to share GEXIM’s expertise in developing innovative solutions towards the promotion of intra- and extra-African trade. Accordingly, the broad areas that were covered included, among others are:

  • Overview of the Ghanaian economy
  • Trade and investment opportunities in Ghana
  • History and rationale for the establishment of GEXIM and governance structure.
  • GEXIM’s portfolio evolution, funding structure and sources.
  • Highlights of the Bank’s current Strategy.
  • GEXIM’s products and initiatives

In addition, the Programme featured presentations of pipelines projects and co-financing opportunities in Ghana.

Moreover, there were presentations by;

Following the 6th Exchange Programme, the participants attended the GEXIM@10 International Conference (25-26 March 2026 in Accra).
